Frequently asked questions

How does the security deposit work?

We take a refundable security deposit by card before collection — £1,000 for most drivers, matching the insurance excess. It's returned in full after the van comes back clean and undamaged, normally within 3 working days of inspection. If a driver's record carries an insurance loading, the deposit follows the adjusted excess and we'll tell you the exact figure before you pay your balance.

What's the mileage allowance?

250 miles per day of your hire, pooled across the trip — a week gives you 1,750 miles, which comfortably covers the NC500 from Birmingham. Extra miles are charged at 25p per mile when the van comes back.

Can I bring my dog?

Yes — most of our campers are dog-friendly with a small extra cleaning charge. Just add the dog-friendly option when you book and bring their bed.

Can I take the campervan to Europe?

European trips are possible by arrangement — we'll need to provide a VE103 vehicle-on-hire certificate and the EU travel kit. Tell us your plans before booking and we'll confirm cover for your route.

What happens if I need to cancel?

Cancel 28 or more days before collection for a full refund of what you've paid. Within 28 days a sliding scale applies — the exact figures are in our terms and on your booking confirmation, so there are no surprises.

What's included in the price?

Comprehensive insurance for the lead driver, UK breakdown cover, the mileage allowance, gas for the hob and heating, and a full kitchen kit. The price you see at checkout is the price you pay — no counter surprises.

Who can drive? What licence do I need?

Drivers aged 25–70 with a full UK licence held for at least 2 years are covered as standard. We check every driver with a DVLA share code before collection (we'll show you how to get one — it takes two minutes on gov.uk). EU and other foreign licences can usually be covered via a manual check; a couple of endorsement types carry a higher excess or need insurer approval — we'll confirm before you pay your balance.

What time is collection and return?

Collection from 3pm on your first day; return by 10am on your last. That gap is how we keep every van properly cleaned, checked and safe between hires.

What if the van breaks down?

Every hire includes UK roadside breakdown cover. The number is in the van pack and in your booking confirmation — call them first, then us, and we'll sort the rest.

Is smoking allowed?

No — all our campers are strictly non-smoking (including vaping). A deep-clean charge applies otherwise.
